“Your theatre company is one of the best things in Nashville.”

“We always leave your productions saying ‘I don't know how the Broadway/Off-Broadway production could have possibly been any better’”

"I've been to Broadway, I've been to the West End, but this was probably the most emotional evening I have spent in the theater."

"Each time I come to your space, I feel like I am free to create, and enjoy the efforts of such energetic and like-minded people. For me, this is where I can thrive, and I know that not just anyone can truly provide such an environment. Thank you for extending your passion to me. " - Andy, Designer

"Once again, Artistic Director Cathy Street delivers a complex and rarely produced gem with tremendous style." - The Tennessean

"In mounting such a complex work with such confidence — and by boldly tapping into our city's wealth of emerging talent — STC has set the bar ever higher for grassroots Nashville theater." - The Nashville Scene

"Watching their production of Spring Awakening, one of the best musicals in recent years, is sheer ecstasy."  - Arts Nashville

In 2005, I founded Street Theatre Company, a professional non-profit arts organization dedicated to pioneering innovative modern musical theatre in Nashville with an aim to engage audiences with universal stories that speak to the human experience and challenge conversation, to support local artists, to provide arts education to children of all ages, and to foster a new generation of theatre arts participants and supporters.

In my ten years as Executive Artistic Director and Producer, I planned and scheduled each musical theatre season (including anywhere from six to ten productions yearly), coordinated the use of STC’s facility not only for STC productions but for other community partners, and worked with the Board to create the annual budget. I created and developed promotional materials for the all programs including class curriculum descriptions, season brochures, class brochures, press releases, and PSA’s.  Administratively, I maintained the day-to-day operation of the theatre and the facility, and was responsible for grant writing, correspondence, marketing, advertising, and community relations/partnership development.  I also oversaw and planned programming for ClassAct Dramatics, STC’s year-round youth program that provides classes, workshops, productions and internship opportunities for young people ages 5 through 18.
